I'm about to purchase a (bargain) Yamaha 01x. Most of the reviews I've read agree that it's a decent piece of equipment, even though a little hard to get into at first. And I don't really mind about that, if it does the job at the end of the day. Digging a bit, I've found several (rather dated) clues around the web that it's not really compatible with both Windows 7 and the newer Mac operating systems. The latter of which affects me directly, as I own a 2011 MacBook Pro, with 2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 at the time - to run Logic Pro.

I understand that if I simply use its MIDI I/Os I'll have no issues. I plan to use it mostly as a DAW controller, anyway - I already have a MOTU 896mk3 to cover my other needs in the home studio. Yet I'd like to have the option to use both interfaces together, or even to use the 01x as a stand-alone mixer / DAW controller, mostly for live performances - if not, I'd like to know it before-hand, as you can imagine. Has anyone used it recently, hopefully as I intend to? Any input will be more than appreciated.

I have two project studios - one has just an 01x, the other has an 01x and an i88x. They are still eminently useful, providing you have the right computer, OS and other hardware to work with them.
